Issue #91  (Start the Day with a Thought Download) 11/09/20

If you work a lot in Microsoft Office, you probably can sympathize with this Tweet.

Never wanting to paste formatting

But note one of the responses:

"In Word: File > Options > Advanced > Cut, Copy & Paste. Change all the relevant options to 'Keep Text Only'"

And apparently other programs are similar. For a few years now, I've been using a program on Windows called PureText, which does this for everything as long as I use CTRL-SHIFT-V to paste. This works like a charm, but I had no idea you could set that as the default copy/paste functionality in Microsoft Office apps. Good to know!

Tools & Apps

Upcount - Native Mac, Windows, or Linux open source invoicing app for freelancers and small businesses.

SuperNormal - Video messaging for busy people. Video and screen recording right in your browser. Automatically transcribed, summarized, and easily shareable.

Ambra - Team collaboration tool that removes task creation ceremonies by describing tasks in a natural way using only #tags and @mentions in a single box.

Slack Scheduler - Schedule your slack messages to avoid the "sorry for pinging you so late" types of replies, taking time zones into consideration.

Supersonic - Bring back office banter with live audio rooms, to replace scheduled Zoom "happy hour" or similar. Although if this is abused, it might have the opposite intended effect.

Cubbit for Teams - Cubbit for Teams is the first cloud storage for businesses not running on data centers but on a distributed network with thousands of hosts. Mmm... cool... so what? So it's safer, greener, zero-knowledge encrypted & privacy-focused.    promoted
