Issue #76  (How To Finish Your Side Project) 07/27/20

A short time ago I came across this post by Philipp Uhl that has a small collection of bookmarklets that you might find useful.

If you're into making your browsing workspace more productive, then I highly recommend you get familiar with how to write your own bookmarklets to suit your own needs, which he discusses briefly, but here's the list of the ones in Philipp's post:
  • Remove Sticky - Removes all sticky elements from the page.
  • Scroll Better with the Space-Bar - Removes sticky content and adds a red indicator-line that shows where the bottom of the page was when you pressed space to scroll.
  • Better Live Stream Chat in YouTube Cinema-mode - Arranges the video and the chat side by side.
  • Faster, Slower, Reset - Three bookmarklets to adjust the speed and playback of embedded HTML5 videos
  • Speedread - Select text on a page and it will be displayed word by word (which is a speed reading technique that's been popular for a few years now).
  • Archive.li and Wayback Machine - Two bookmarklets to make it trivial to look up something on archive.li and archive.org.

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!

Breakpoints and `console.log` is the Past, Time Travel is the Future - Wallaby.js is a developer productivity tool that runs your JavaScript and TypeScript tests immediately as you type, showing results in your editor right next to your code.
