Issue #60 (The Fogg Behaviour Model for Procrastination) 04/06/20
Chrome recently added a feature to its browser called Scroll To Text Fragment, which allows a user or author to link to a specific portion of a page using a text snippet in the URL. For example, you could do the following:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quokka#:~:text=Like%20most%20macropods
If you click that link in Chrome it will take you to the Wikipedia entry on Quokkas and the page will scroll to the part of the page with the specified text, like a regular in-page anchor, but with the text highlighted:
Scroll To Text Fragment in Chrome
This is a nice feature but if you're worried about it for some reason, Jeff Starr explains how to disable it (it's on by default now) in Chrome or other Chromium browser that supports it.
Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!
