Issue #4  (UI Redesigns are Mostly a Waste of Time) 03/11/19

If you use Google Docs regularly, you'll appreciate this little shortcut from their Twitter account. If you want to create a new file in Google Drive, type one of the following domain names in your browser's URL bar:

  • Google Doc:,,
  • Google Form:,
  • Google Sheet:,,
  • Google Sites:,,
  • Google Slides:,,,
Now that's a time-saving shortcut!

And I should point out that the GIF in Google's tweet actually has a typo in it. "" (plural) doesn't work; it's "" (singular), as I have in my list above.

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!

Tools & Apps

Yeymo - The partnership management platform for companies and teams that work with a myriad of partners and clients.

Reminder Bot - Reminders are a routine tool for small businesses, homes, and corporate environments. Reminder Bot enhances these tools with the apps you now use (Slack, Messenger, Hangouts, Calendar, etc.)

Meteorite - Control your GitHub notifications. Prioritize the tasks that keep you and your team most productive.

CoWatch - An experimental way to watch video files with your friends online all from within your browser using WebRTC.

Articles & Resources

Why everyone should read support emails - The importance of the human side of business analysis, as opposed to impersonal data metrics.

How to Make Meals From Office Snacks - At start-ups and luxurious companies, the free lunch is for the taking, if you’re bold enough.

Understand, Design, Build: A Framework for Problem-Solving - One company's 3-step method for helping their engineers become great problem solvers.

How listening to music 'significantly impairs' creativity - One study's findings that demonstrate that background music consistently disrupts creative performance.

UI redesigns are mostly a waste of time - Controversial title but what's said here is pretty sensible.
