There was an interesting thread started on Hacker News recently where a user asks,
Is the Job Market Actually Bad? The user has heard that others are having problems, but isn't having the same issues himself.
While it is true that a person's experience and technical ability will play a role, I think where you're located can also be a factor. For example, a huge, dense urban area with a lot of competition isn't going to be the best place to find new work quickly.
As expected, the comments are not as positive about the market as the person asking the original question. Many find that even well-qualified candidates are failing to find work for up to a year or more and others think there's an 'LLM-assisted resume arms race' so to speak, that's causing a lot of problems.
Whatever the case, while it's good that a few people aren't having problems, the majority of people are finding the job market to be a grind.
