If you're interested in studying the salaries of engineers in different parts of the United States, or maybe you just want to verify that your boss is, indeed, ripping you off, you'll want to check out this Software Engineer Pay Heatmap from levels.fyi, a platform that publishes insights on companies, salaries, jobs, etc.

The tool allows you to change the salary currency, annual vs. monthly pay, and drill down to a specific city via search. The information is sourced from 300,000 salaries submitted by users. So I might be a little skeptical about the numbers but I think in general these should be fairly trustworthy if you want to use these as a basis for salary negotiations for a new or existing job.
