If you're looking for a job, one of the most frustrating things about searching online for work is not knowing what goes on behind the scenes with the companies that are apparently hiring. I say "apparently" because it seems like some positions are perpetually being advertised.
To help with this,
someone on Reddit has started what they call an
Official Ghost Job List, which is a Google sheet that shares info on "companies that are guilty of posting ghost jobs.".
The document is simply a list of companies that post fake jobs for their own benefit with no intention of hiring, thus wasting applicants' time and resources. Often these jobs are posted and reposted for at least a year without anyone actually being hired.
I know people who have experienced this problem firsthand and I hope this list of companies becomes more widely known and continues to grow. It will definitely help ones involved in an online job search to avoid spinning their wheels and focus mainly on companies that are actually intending to hire.
