Calmer Notes
If you're suffering from burnout or are potentially on the verge of burnout, you might benefit from some of the suggestions in a Hacker News thread from almost two years ago where a reader asks Burned Out. What Now?

The original post goes into more details and questions on their specific circumstances, but the discussion includes a wide variety of answers and considerations for anyone going through such a thing.

Burnout and Overwork in the Office

The advice from different comments (many from those who have been through the same thing) varies from physical suggestions like exercise, diet, and even getting a Swedish massage, to dealing with things mentally in different ways.

There's also some users chiming in from the perspective of a manager who finds certain solutions aren't very realistic to the overall health of a team (e.g. can a team afford to lose an engineer dealing with burnout for an entire year while picking up that slack? What effect will that have on the team?).

There certainly aren't any perfect solutions to every situation, but it's always good to hear a variety of viewpoints so we can consider what is best for ourselves.

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!

Why Note-Taking Apps Don’t Make Us Smarter — A sobering reminder that our note-taking apps aren't there to help us think; we still have to do that on our own, and AI isn't necessarily the immediate solution.

Bytes: Your Favourite JavaScript Newsletter — I subscribe to a lot of newsletters, but this is definitely one I look forward to. Entertaining with lots of cool and useful coding tidbits and tools.    sponsor
