I've often included ads and affiliate links in my newsletters for some of the popular daily newsletters that many seem to enjoy nowadays. One of those is called Morning Brew, which I'm sure most of you have heard of. I link to it below, so feel free to use that link to subscribe and I'll get a small cut if you do.
One of the reasons these kinds of newsletters are popular, and why many similar dailies have popped up in recent years, is that it's a short email sent out at the same time every day. This is a nice feeling when you can rely on something and then check it off your list, so to speak (or your inbox in this case).

I think people enjoy this and they feel it doesn't impede on their workday or their overall workflow. And of course any email is delete-key friendly, so you don't even have to open each issue, depending on your current schedule.
I think another reason these emails are popular is the fact that they make you feel like you're being productive, even if you're not. You get 'informed' on news and other goings-on in the world in just a few minutes – and then you can get back to your work.
Have you tried one of these daily newsletters yourself? I personally have never subscribed to one because I'm usually way too busy with other tech-related emails and don't care much for non-tech stuff (at least not with email). But I'm sure many of you enjoy them and don't find they hinder your day. In fact, something like Morning Brew is easy to associate with your morning coffee, so it has a near-perfect business model that ties into something people are already doing – drinking their morning coffee!
