Brilliant
I'm sure I've shared similar Hacker News threads before, but if you're in the market for a new laptop and don't intend to buy from Apple, you'll want to bookmark this one from last year where a user asks: Is there a developer laptop that does not suck and is not a Mac in 2022?

The little anecdote explained in the text of the post is a little strange. I couldn't fully understand what they mean by 'put a big scratch right across the Apple logo' and what this has to do with the laptop not working properly. Nonetheless, there's a wide variety of suggestions in the discussion to consider for laptops.

As a bit of an aside here, it's definitely been 'trendy' for more than a decade in the developer community to work on Apple devices, so that can be a difficult thing to overcome if you don't prefer Apple (due to price or geography, as in the thread, for example).

I'm mainly a Windows guy myself. I almost switched years back but decided against it. I'm just way too fast on a Windows computer to bother changing and every time I used my Mac laptop I found I just couldn't be as productive. But naturally, if you're bred on the Mac thing, then you'll be quicker and more productive in that environment.

Whatever the case for you, I hope you find the thread useful!

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!
