Issue #116  (Take Advantage of Low Quality Time) 05/03/21

A Tweet in June 2020 from writer Daphne K. Lee, who has only about 8,000 Twitter followers, seems to have resonated with a few hundred thousand users. She discusses something called "revenge bedtime procrastination" which she says is:

"...a phenomenon in which people who don’t have much control over their daytime life refuse to sleep early in order to regain some sense of freedom during late night hours."

Alarm Clock

I definitely feel like I've fallen into this trap numerous times but I also don't have a strict morning schedule that requires me to be up early so I do make up for lost sleep pretty regularly.

If you'd like to read up more on this from a clinical perspective, there's a study published in 2014 by the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in the Netherlands that goes into this in great detail.

Now on to this week's hand-picked productivity links!
